Incident #1192

At 19:56 on Saturday 3rd August Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a casualty.

14 CVSRT members deployed in team vehicles or attended directly to the incident at an isolated property down an unmade track off Eastwood Road, Todmorden.

YAS paramedics attempted to reach the property by ambulance, however, the condition of the track meant access on foot was the only option.

Paramedics carried out an assessment of the casualty. A paramedic and the casualty were then transported by CVSRT 4x4 to an ambulance waiting at the nearest roadhead.

A CVSRT vehicle then guided the ambulance along an appropriate route back into the valley for the onward journey to hospital.
