Incident #1253

At 19:10 on Tuesday 9th June Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had been trampled by cows near Walter Clough Lane, Halifax.

YAS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) were first on scene and provided initial medical care. Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was packaged, transferred onto a stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance.

Walking through a field of livestock can be an intimidating experience and cows, particularly ones with calves, can behave unpredictably. Advice on what to do if you encounter cattle can be found here:

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
