CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with evacuating a casualty at Eccup Reservoir who was experiencing back spasm.

Whilst en-route the team received a stand down as the casualty managed to evacuate himself and made his own way to A&E.

CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with evacuation of 71yr old female who had collapsed at Otley Chevin.

Whilst en-route the team received a stand down as the YAS crew had managed to evacuate the casualty in a transport chair.

Just after midnight last night, West Yorkshire Police (Calderdale Valley) alerted CVSRT to an incident nearby requiring our assistance. Yorkshire Ambulance Service were dealing with an emergency call to an injured female who was camping near Daisy Bank and had sustained a bad cut which required medical attention.

The casualty was actually able to walk but due to the steep, slippery terrain, CVSRT members provided additional support and scene lighting for the ambulance crew to ensure all made it off the hill safely.

At 01:45, team members returned to base and then onwards to their homes.

At 19:33 this evening, CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service for assistance to locate and evacuate an injured mountain biker who had fallen off in remote woodland sustaining a suspected lower leg fracture.

Thanks to his riding companions, the casualty was quickly located and assessed on-scene by a team doctor. A box splint was used to protect his lower leg and then he was carried by stretcher for approx. 500metres from the woods to Calder Mobile 3, where he was able to sit up and was driven to the main road and handed over to the ambulance crew.

At 20:34 the team stood down and returned to their homes.

Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team was called by Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team to assist West Yorkshire Police with the ongoing search for 60-year-old Robert Bidski, who was reported missing by his family at around 9pm on Monday 10th October.

Mr Bidski was last seen in the Chickenley area, however his car was located on the Denby Dale Road, near the Bretton roundabout. Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by West Yorkshire Police and began the search at 2.10am on Tuesday in the Bretton Common area.

The search continued throughout the day with assistance in the morning by SARDA search dogs. Later in the afternoon members from CVSRT, Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team, Yorkshire Lowland Search and Rescue Team and Lincolnshire Search and Rescue Team joined the search. By 18:45pm, all team's were stood down for the night whilst police enquiries continued.

West Yorkshire Police appeal: Robert Bidski missing appeal

Mr Bidski is described as a white male, 5ft 10", slim build, grey hair, goatee beard. When he was last seen, he was wearing a grey wool jacket, which was waist length, blue faded jeans and grey shoes.

PC Bronwyn Carter, said: "We are concerned for the welfare of Robert and are appealing to members of the public who may have seen him or know his whereabouts to assist with our enquiries.

On Sunday 9th October at 11:43am, Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team was alerted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to an incident in the Queensbury area involving a 31yr female who had slipped on the banking of a stream and had fallen heavily on her hip.

First CVSRT members arrived just as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed, and together made their way to the casualty site. Paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Hazardous Area Response Team were already in attendance and were tending to the casualty’s immediate need for pain relief.

Once comfortable, CVSRT members packaged the casualty in a vacuum mattress, and smoothly transferred the lady by stretcher to the helicopter for transfer to hospital.

CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service for assistance with the urgent evacuation of a male walker who was in need of urgent medical assistance on Black Moor, Cullingworth.

Whilst driving along Trough Lane near Denholme, one of our vehicles was flagged down by a passer-by who had been helping the casualty. A fell party was immediately deployed to the casualty’s location and once on-scene, a team doctor helped to stabilise him.

Calder Mobile 2 & 3 were able to drive across the moorland and quickly extract the casualty to the ambulance waiting nearby.
