At 13:14, CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of a 67yo man who had slipped whilst walking on the moor above Walsden and sustained an ankle injury. The casualty was walking as part of a larger group who were able to raise the alarm when the accident happened.

15 team members were available to respond and made their way to the location in team vehicles or directly. Once on-scene, team members stabilised the casualty and treated his injuries. They then packaged and extracted him to a barn which had been opened by a local farmer and was situated close to a road head. Shortly after arriving at the barn, a YAS ambulance crew arrived and the casualty was handed over for transfer to hospital.

At 15:57, CVSRT were alerted to an incident at Caley Crag near Otley, where Yorkshire Ambulance Service were requesting assistance to locate and evacuate an injured female climber who had fallen awkwardly whilst bouldering and had sustained a lower leg injury.

15 CVSRT members were available to respond instantly and made their way to location either in team vehicles or directly. Once on-scene, team members administered pain relief and then when the lady was comfortable she was packaged and evacuated to the waiting ambulance.

At 09:47, CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of a 52yo man who had fallen off his mountain bike and sustained a head injury. The rider’s friends raised the alarm as he was feeling quite confused and drifting in and out of consciousness.

22 team members were available to respond instantly and made their way to the location in team vehicles or directly. Once on-scene, team members assisted the YAS crew to make the casualty comfortable and then packaged him in our vacuum mattress before evacuating the casualty some distance by stretcher to the road, where he was handed over to the ambulance crew for transfer to hospital.

CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with evacuation of two children who were stuck on steep banking above the Rochdale Canal.

Whilst team members were en route to the location, we received a stand down as West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were already in attendance and dealing with the incident.

Whilst team members were en route to the casualty’s location, we received a stand down as Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association were en route and would deal with the incident.

CVSRT received a request from West Yorkshire Police to assist with the ongoing search for Craig Alderson who was reported missing on 20/1/17 from Queensbury.

30 team members were tasked with searching various areas of interest, however all areas were cleared and the team stood down at 9pm.
