At 13:33, CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of a 31yr male who had fallen from a rope swing sustaining an open ankle fracture. Due to the location of the incident and anticipating a long stretcher carry, 12 members from CVSRT with additional members from Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team were deployed.

Once on-scene, team members administered pain relief before packaging and evacuating the casualty from the woodland to a farm track where the ambulance was waiting. Following decontamination of all equipment and personal kit, all members stood down and returned to bases.

As vehicles arrived back at their bases, CVSRT members were alerted to a second incident at Lumb Falls, Pecket Well and immediately deployed to scene.

HVMRT members also received an alert from West Yorkshire Police to an imminent missing persons search in their operational area, therefore returned to their base ready for deployment.

At 19:10 on Tuesday 9th June Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had been trampled by cows near Walter Clough Lane, Halifax.

YAS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) were first on scene and provided initial medical care. Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was packaged, transferred onto a stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance.

Walking through a field of livestock can be an intimidating experience and cows, particularly ones with calves, can behave unpredictably. Advice on what to do if you encounter cattle can be found here: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/advice/safety/walking-near-livestock.aspx

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

At 18:39 on Thursday 4th June Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a male who had suffered a cardiac arrest on Bradley Hall Golf Club.

Members of the public gave immediate CPR before the arrival of YAS and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) who provided further medical care and stabalised the casualty.

Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was ready to be transferred to hospital and, due to the recent dry weather, the ambulance was able to access the golf course to reach the casualty which prevented a lengthy stretcher carry.

We would like to thank the bystanders quick actions in providing CPR while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance services.

All at CVSRT send our wishes for a speedy recovery.
