Community Clean Up

31 Jan 2016

On Saturday, CVSRT were out and about helping to clean-up a steep section of wooded gully on the Calderdale border at Blackshaw Beck between Fairfields Avenue and Halifax Road in Shelf. The aim of this was to clear litter, fly-tipping and debris that had built up over many years and was becoming an eyesore in the area.

Our team of enthusiastic volunteers and supporters donned heavy-duty gloves and old clothes to extract the ‘hard to reach’ rubbish for the Council to dispose of.

Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team are very proud of our links with the local community and wherever possible we like to get involved with initiatives to make the area a much nicer place to live. After a very productive few hours, the team of volunteers made a huge impact on the area.

Many thanks to all our volunteers who gave up their spare time to help make a difference. If you would like to support the team, please visit the Support Us page.
