Dementia Friendly

On Saturday May 9th, Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team members were at the official launch of 'Dementia Friendly Todmorden'.

The group, which aims to provide help for those who have been diagnosed with the condition and their families, hosted a special event at Todmorden Town Hall with a range of exhibitors on-hand to answer questions and provide helpful advice.

Top QC Cherie Blair CBE, was one of the guest speakers. Cherie's father (and actor) Tony Booth, lives in Todmorden with his wife Steph, and has the condition. Other speakers included Mark Burns-Williamson, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner West Yorkshire and Geoff Shaw (MInstLM), West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
