Incident #1374

At 14:55 on Tuesday 29th June 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a missing person in the Laycock area near Keighley.
CVSRT worked with WYP to identify key search areas with forty Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) personnel, three Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) search dogs and 20 WYP officers deployed into these identified areas.
At 21:45 Search Dog Jack located the missing person who was sadly deceased.
Everyone at CVSRT expresses their condolences and our thoughts are with family and friends at this difficult time.
We would like to thank the residents of Laycock for opening up local facilities, allowing us to use the Village Primary School grounds as our base and to everybody involved in the search for their efforts and dedication, including our neighbouring teams Holme Valley Mountain Rescue (HVMRT) and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) and to search dog Jack who is soon to retire from active duty.
