At 14:16 on Saturday 24th October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist a walking group of 4 above Green Withens Reservoir. One of the group had injured their ankle and was in considerable pain.
 
A CVSRT Cas Carer was first on scene and the ankle was splinted and pain relief administered. Other members of the party were walked off the hill with team members.
 
The casualty was packaged onto a stretcher and carried off the hill to the waiting ambulance.
 
Oldham MRT had also been called to this incident and assisted CVSRT.

At 15:19 on Wednesday 21st October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a 73 year old male who became unwell whilst out walking on Bingley Moor.
 
CVSRT were first on scene who provided some additional warm clothing and assessed the casualty who, following some rest, was able to be assisted off the hill on foot. 
 
Upon the arrival of YAS a further assessment was completed and the casualty remained able to complete the journey off the moor on foot. 
 
Additional CVSRT team members remained at the RV until the casualty was safely off the moor in case further assistance was required.

At 13:15 on Wednesday 21st October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had fallen whilst out walking on Ovenden Moor, sustaining a right ankle injury and also experiencing breathing difficulties.
 
YAS were first on scene and provided initial medical care.  Following the arrival of CVSRT the injured ankle was placed in a splint then the casualty was packaged onto a stretcher and transferred to the awaiting ambulance.

At 15:35 on Saturday 17th October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of two females who had fallen from their horses whilst out riding near Clockface Quarry, Scammonden Bridge. 
 
CVSRT and a member of UWFRA were first on scene and provided initial medical care. 
 
Due to the potential for two stretcher evacuations a call was made to our neighbouring team, Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team (HVMRT), to be placed on standby should we need additional assistance. 
 
The first casualty had suffered a head injury and was in some pain, whilst the second casualty had suffered a leg injury. 
 
Following further treatment and assessment by team members, including a team paramedic, one casualty was able to be assisted off the hill on foot and the second casualty was packaged onto a stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance. 
 
HVMRT members were not required and were stood down. Thank you for being available to assist.

At 19:35 on Thursday 15th October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a high risk missing male in Northowram.
 
CVSRT search teams and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) search dogs and handlers were deployed to specific areas based on intelligence gathered by WYP officers and CVSRT search leaders. 
 
During the search the missing person was found, safe, by WYP and the team was stood down.

At 22:27 on Thursday 8th October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a high risk missing male near Hainsworth Woods, Keighley.
 
Working with officers from WYP along with support from our neighbouring teams, Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team (HVMRT) and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA), CVSRT search teams and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) search dogs and handlers were deployed to specific areas around the last reported sighting.  
 
Following a thorough search of the agreed areas, with no person found, the teams were stood down, returning to base at 04:10. 
 
Thank you to HVMRT and UWFRA for their assistance.

At 13:46 on Thursday 1st October 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had suffered a hip injury whilst
playing golf at Holywell Green Golf Course. 
 
YAS who were first on scene provided initial medical care.  Upon arrival of CVSRT and once comfortable the casualty was immobilised in a specialist vacuum mattress, packaged in a winter casualty bag and stretchered from the golf course to the awaiting ambulance.
