At 17:11 on Friday 4th June 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a paraglider reported to have suffered a hard landing near Jeremy Hill, Lumbutts.

Following an aerial search by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) CVSRT divided into teams, including our search dogs and handlers, to cover the surrounding area.

CVSRT located the missing person who, whilst he had experienced an interesting landing, was uninjured and making his way back out of the landing area.

Whilst the paraglider was thankfully uninjured the independent reports received of the hard landing resulted in the genuine call made with the best intentions.
