Saturday 9th April saw the return of the Calderdale Hike, organised by the 24th St Paul’s Scout Group, following a break since 2019 due to COVID-19.
Nearly 300 runners and walkers tackled this years course that contained a short (15.4 mile), medium (25.7 mile), and long (36.9 mile) option.
Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) joined the entrants with the early alarm call as we supported preparations providing a kit check for all entrants during registration. This covered basic equipment which is essential when venturing out on the hills to help keep you safe. Mandatory items included a Map and compass, whistle, survival bag and appropriate footwear and clothing.
CVSRT are happy to assist with such a good event and we would like to thank the scouts for their continued support to the team and hope all competitors had a great time exploring the Calder Valley.
