CVSRT - June 2021
CVSRT New Team Members

As a result of the COVID-19 restrictions our new member intake assessment for 2021 unfortunately had to be delayed from its usual timing of January and will now take place in the early hours of 3rd July.

Whilst the event will have a different feel this year with it being held in the height of summer instead of our typical winter schedule, we will still put all applicants through their paces on the hill - testing their navigation throughout the day and night, team work skills, ability to maintain a positive attitude and checking they’d be a good fit with the team.  We of course also hope all applicants have an enjoyable day and get an insight into what being an operational member of CVSRT is all about.

We have had many applicants show their interest over the last 18 months, which has been fantastic to see, and all those ready for the assessment day have been contacted by our probationary training officer.

While applications for this year are closed If you are interested in supporting or joining the team we would love to hear from you. To make contact please visit our website -  https://www.cvsrt.org.uk/the-team/join-us.   We will hopefully be running another intake next year.

Good luck to all of the aspiring new team members and see you on the hill.

#Volunteersweek

This week is volunteers’ week, an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.

Everyone at Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) commits to hundreds of hours of volunteer time per year for the team, however, we are so much more than the members you see out on the hills.

We have several supporters who regularly give up their time to support training and fundraising events, often lay hiding in the cold wet moors acting as a training casualty and working behind the scenes to enable the team to be ready to respond when called upon.

We could not continue to operate without the fantastic support we are fortunate to receive and we thank everyone who has supported us over the years, it really does mean a lot to the team.
