On Sunday 2nd July The Rotary Club of Halifax are hosting their annual community walk and operation of the Castle Carr Fountains. The highest gravity fed fountain in the UK.
The guided walk will commence near the Cat I'th Well pub, Wainstalls Lane, at 12 noon and is a 2.5 mile route to the fountains.
Money raised will go to local charities including CVSRT. We will have merchandise available to buy during the day, however, signal strength in the grounds mean we will only be able to take cash for purchases.
Unfortunately this years event is sold out, but you can visit the Rotary Clubs website for more information about the event and to look out for tickets for next year https://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/page.php?PgID=910509&ClubID=197
#Volunteersweek
The 1st to the 7th of June is volunteers’ week, an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.
Everyone at Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) commits to hundreds of hours of volunteer time per year for the team, however, we are so much more than the members you see out on the hills.
We have several supporters who regularly give up their time to support training and fundraising events, are often lay hiding in the cold wet moors acting as a training casualty and working behind the scenes to enable the team to be ready to respond when called upon.
We could not continue to operate without the fantastic support we are fortunate to receive and we thank everyone who has helped us over the years, it really does mean a lot to the team.
