Calder Valley is a wonderful area, filled with incredible people who are not only out in the hills testing themselves they are also out having fun in imaginative ways. Not only that they are actively raising much needed money for charities while doing so.
We are honoured that several of these amazing people have chosen Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) as their chosen charity.

A brief story of these fundraisers is below along with links that will allow you to read more, follow their progress and give you the opportunity to donate.  Each donation, no matter the value, will go a long way to help them reach their goals and help CVSRT too.

A Tri-Nation Tinyhorse Trotathon Trail Marathon Run

A tenacious team of three tinyhorses are currently competing in their own Tri-Nation Trotathon in support of Mountain Rescue (MR).

The three tinyhorses - #GoAngus, #GoPageBoy and #GoTitan - will each represent a country and MR organisation and you can follow their progress and root for your favourite as they trot up the miles, and compete 'just for fun' on distance, time, and amount raised.

Tinyhorse PageBoy, representing England, will be supporting his local MR team, Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team, PageBoy is generally super chill and a keen 'middle of the pack' social runner. He doesn't care too much for speed, just enjoying being out on the trails and paces along with his head held high.

Thank you to all the horses and runners taking part and go PageBoy.

Bearing Up!

One of our own team members, Paul Taylor, plans to ride, one wheel (on a unicycle!) on the canal towpath system across the country from Runcorn to Goole, passing over Summit all in order to raise much needed funds to provide equipment for CVSRT’s specialist Swift Water Rescue Technicians.  Paul will be making the journey over multiple days from July 2020.

Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Night Walk

Every year since he was 14, Robert Batty has walked the Halifax Long March, raising money for a wide range of charities, both locally and nationally.

Due to many events being cancelled as a result of the COVID19 Pandemic Robert has not been able to continue his 20 year record Halifax Long March walk. Not wanting to see the year pass by without setting his own unique way of making sure that he can carry on the tradition Robert has decided to take on the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks by night!

We would also like to take the opportunity to give a huge thanks to the Calder Valley Fell Runners Association, who recently gave the team a donation of £1,000.
Thank you to everyone out there who is supporting CVSRT, it really does mean a lot.  And good luck.
