#Health and Wellbeing

Most of us are aware of the part physical health plays in our overall wellbeing, however, our mental health is equally important and sadly something that is often overlooked.

1 in 4 people suffer with mental health issues in the UK, which means in a group of 20 friends, 5 of them are potentially struggling with their mental health.

Male suicides have consistently accounted for approximately three-quarters of all suicides in the UK since the mid-1990s.  On average one man every 2 hours takes his life in the UK and It’s often said a factor is that men don’t talk.

If you are struggling, feeling down, have a lot on your plate please reach out and speak to someone. A friend, a local group, a phone call.

There are many fantastic resources and communities in place to offer support, a small selection of these are below;
•       Mental Health First Aid  - https://mhfaengland.org
•       Andy’s Man Club - https://andysmanclub.co.uk
•       Samaritans - https://www.samaritans.org
•       Mind - https://www.mind.org.uk

If you are reading this and know someone close to you who you feel could benefit from a friendly face to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out to them.  Even just a text to check in;
•       Ask how they are.
•       Ask how the family are.
•       Ask if there is anything you can do to help.

Sparking that initial conversation can make all the difference.
