Yesterday, four CVSRT members spent the evening visiting the 7th Todmorden Brownies who had expressed interest in learning about the team as they are working towards their ‘Out and About’ Badge.

Firstly the pack watched a Mountain Rescue DVD and then had the opportunity to get some hands-on experience with the fell party kit and our vacuum mattress. The Brownies were given instruction on; how to dress appropriately for walking and rambling, how to pack a rucksack, what precautions they should take against being caught out in bad weather or in darkness without a torch.

A fun evening with some simple tips and advice about staying safe whilst out and about on the hill, which will help towards their badges.
