Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team were tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist a casualty who had fallen while descending a steep hillside, sustaining injuries to their hip and shoulder.

Following the administration of pain relief, the casualty was carefully secured in a full‑body vacuum splint and transferred onto a stretcher. Due to the challenging terrain, a back‑rope system was employed to allow a safe and controlled descent as the stretcher was carried off the hillside.

Once safely at the bottom, the casualty was handed over to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
