Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team was requested by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to attend a casualty injured in woodland near Portsmouth.

Team Remote Rescue Medical Technicians were first on scene and carried out an initial assessment and treatment. The team was joined by YAS, and both teams worked collaboratively to continue caring for the patient.

The casualty was immobilised and packaged using one of the team’s vacuum mattresses before being transferred onto the stretcher. The patient was then carried out of the woodland to the awaiting ambulance.

We wish the casualty a quick and full recovery.
