Calder Mobile 2 is a 2024 Toyota Hilux. It is our newest vehicle and has been specially converted for mountain rescue work. It is a fully equipped 4×4 with an automatic transmission, low‑range gearing, and a locking differential, making it well suited to challenging terrain and winter conditions, with snow chains available when required. The vehicle includes enhanced underbody protection, rock sliders, and a winch, ensuring it can safely access and operate in remote or demanding environments

Designed for rapid response and team efficiency, the Hilux seats up to five people and features a bespoke interior conversion with lockers for medical equipment, rope rescue gear, stretchers, and team members’ personal kit. It is fitted with blue lights, internal and external scene lighting, auxiliary power systems and an onboard air compressor with self‑levelling suspension. Communications are covered with two radios, supporting both Mountain Rescue and Airwave (Emergency Services) networks, ensuring reliable contact in all operational situations.
