Recent callouts for Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team

It’s been another busy few weeks for our team, responding to a range of incidents across the Calder Valley and beyond.

Recent callouts have included assisting Yorkshire Ambulance Service with the evacuation of casualties suffering injuries after falls at locations including Lumb Falls, High Birks and Todmorden.

We have also been tasked by West Yorkshire Police to help search for missing people, including a search in Shibden, Halifax, and most recently providing mutual aid to Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team during a search operation at New Miller Dam.

These incidents highlight the variety of situations our team is called upon to attend, from casualty care and evacuation in difficult terrain to supporting partner agencies with searches for vulnerable missing people.
