Blackstone Edge 02/08/26

Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) were requested by Oldham Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) for assistance with the evacuation of a casualty on Blackstone Edge.

On arrival, OMRT were treating the casualty who had sustained a lower‑leg injury. The injury was assessed, managed, and splinted. Once the casualty was packaged, the teams worked together to carry the stretcher off the hillside and along the Blackstone Edge Drain to the waiting vehicles.

The casualty was then transferred into the OMRT Land Rover, and transported along the track, down to the road to the NWAS ambulance at the White House car park for onward care.

It is always great to support our neighbouring teams and work collaboratively to ensure casualties receive timely and effective care.

We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
